Aircraft Emergency

At approximately 3:12 pm on Thursday, May 14, 2026, a passerby driving on HWY 95 reported a possible aircraft crash at the south end of the airport runway. The first arriving fire company reported a small, single-engine aircraft off the runway, in the dirt. The aircraft was attempting to take off when it had to return and perform an emergency landing. Three engine companies, three ambulances, and a Battalion Chief responded to the aircraft emergency. The occupants were safely removed from the downed aircraft while ensuring fire protection. All occupants were transported to the hospital for evaluation, and the downed aircraft was made safe for removal. There were no reported injuries to firefighters. Crews remained on the scene for approximately 3 hours until the aircraft was safely removed from the runway area. The cause of the aircraft emergency is under investigation by the FAA and NTSB.
