A Safe Way to Celebrate Independence Day in Lake Havasu City
Looking for a safe and memorable way to celebrate the Fourth of July? Join us as we celebrate Independence Day and commemorate America’s 250th anniversary through patriotic traditions, community gatherings, and a professional fireworks display over Lake Havasu City.
Kicking off at 8:00 a.m. on July 4 is a Celebratory Reading of the Declaration of Independence on the stage beneath the London Bridge, coordinated by Lake Havasu City resident Bob Barrett. Following the readings, a large traveling American flag, presented to the American Legion, measuring approximately 60 feet by 28 feet, will be displayed from the London Bridge at approximately 10:00 a.m. For more information about the Celebratory Reading of the Declaration of Independence, please contact Mr. Barrett at lifeliberty250@gmail.com
The celebration continues throughout the day with an Open Swim at the Aquatic Center from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., offering another family-friendly way to cool off and enjoy the holiday.
In the evening, beginning at 9:00 p.m., Go Lake Havasu provides a professional Independence Day fireworks display from Piccadilly Point in Rotary Community Park, weather and wind conditions permitting. To help ensure a safe holiday for everyone, personal fireworks, including sparklers, are prohibited in City parks and along the shoreline.
Those choosing to celebrate at home should use only legal, ground-based fireworks sold within Lake Havasu City during the authorized sales period from June 24th to July 6th, 2026. Fireworks that launch into the air or explode remain prohibited at all times, regardless of where they were purchased.
Lake Havasu City also encourages residents and visitors to celebrate responsibly by planning for a sober ride, whether traveling by vehicle or watercraft, and by taking precautions to keep pets safe and secure during fireworks activities. Additional public safety personnel are on duty throughout the holiday weekend to help ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration for everyone.
